About

Yaps Estagle wants to be many things. He wishes to be the starting quarterback of the New England Patriots, his favorite football team; but of course, he can’t. He wants to be a play-by-play announcer for football, inspired by the amazing voices of Gil Santos, Gene Deckerhoff, Merrill Reese and Bob Papa; but of course, he can’t. He wishes to be one of the premier beat writers in the field of professional football; but of course, he can’t.

Not all his aspirations are based on sports. Get real. He’s not (just) a fanboy.

Yaps Estagle, fell in love with semicolons in his teens; totally ignoring Kurt Vonnegut’s famous quote. He started writing (or at least his idea of writing) throughout his high school years. But, let’s get real, all he ever did was one short play and the rest– fan fiction.

His exposure into theater began when he realized that real theater is not the way it was done in his high school. Through his friends in his college theater group, he started to embrace the art of theatrical sound design. With guidance from mentors who give free pizza and beer every day plus knowledge from his infrequent encounters in the Philippine music scene (seriously, he has an album; yet he doesn’t know where it is now), he had the necessary tools to create theatrical sound designs and avoid armchairs.

At this time as well, he fell in love with the courier font (not courier new; big difference) and that began also his study into playwriting– deciding to change concentration from economics to creative writing in his college. When you tell your children the tale of the great economic recession of the late 2000s make sure you blame Yaps Estagle for not finishing his economics degree and thus saving the world from poverty. What a waste.

When not interacting with clients (doing writing jobs, training, theater, film and the like), Yaps enjoys exploring the ever changing landscape of the Internet (children, do make sure to capitalize the “I” in “Internet”). Finding odd things to tweet or digg about is a pastime of Yaps, since it’s just too easy to do it.

In the future, he plans to launch a podcast with his friends, that is basically a recording every conversation they have while drinking. Hopefully he can be a legitimate Internet superstar; proving everyone that you don’t need to cosplay to be famous on the Web.

Below are testimonials from people from the different fields of the art scene on how amazing Yaps Estagle really is.
